A June 21 game brought the Dale Solberg-coached 15/16 Teener players face-to-face with the Madison Maroon.
The coach considered it the best play the team has had all season, surprising the undefeated Maroon in an 8-4 result.
We played our best ball against a very good Madison team, Solberg said. I was very proud of our aggressiveness and approach to the game.
Tanner Solberg pitched a complete game and added two doubles to the hitting game. Zane Schumacher added two singles to the tally.
**Dells A vs. Humboldt**
The Nate Alfson-coached Varsity Teeners fell to Humboldt in a June 25 match, 13-12.

Tanner Solberg went five for five and scored a home run during the game, while Schumacher added two hits and a home run to the offensive. Keegan Hemenway managed a round-tripper to help the Dells cause.

Tanner Ljunggren and Karst each connected one hit.
**Dells S vs. Volga**
The Dell Rapids boys hosted Volga July 3 at Volunteer Field, losing the match after two extra innings, 23-13.
The boys had a four-run lead heading into the last frame, but Volga scored four runs to go into extra rounds. At the top of the ninth, Volga plated a massive 11 runs to take the game.
Matt Juba, Riley Schmidt and Tanner Solberg each had a hand in the pitching, while on the hitting end, Solberg managed two hits and Beau Carpenter and Nate Klein each connected doubles.
This type of game you want to just take the positives and move on, coach Solberg said.
**Dells S vs. Hartford-Humboldt**
The Solberg-coached Teeners closed out the weeks games with a July 5 game versus Hartford-Humboldt, resulting in a 9-6 loss for the Dells boys.
Tanner Solberg pushed to four for four to lead the offensive, Schumacher pitched a strong five and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and fanning six others.
In tight ball games like this, errors are magnified, and that is what happened to us, coach Solberg said. We had a couple of miscues that Hartford-Humboldt were able to take advantage of. We did play well other than a couple of fielding mistakes.
