The Huset’s Tournament, July 27-29 in Brandon, served as the last outing for Dell Rapids 10U and 12U Little League teams, which both made championship play for the weekend.

**Minnehaha Funeral Home**
The traveling 12U team, Minnehaha Funeral Home, came up with a victory in its bracket for the Huset’s Tournament. The boys started off with a Friday night match versus the Sioux Falls Lightning, winning 13-1.

The boys then moved forward to play Okoboji on Saturday, winning that round 16-0. The third-round game for the Minnehaha boys was forfeited by Rapid City, effectively propelling the 12U Dells squad into the championship round.

In the final game of the tourney, Dell Rapids played recent rival Madison, who the local boys had lost the VFW State Tournament to the weekend before. The championship for Huset’s landed in Dells’ camp, though, as the 12U boys took the win, 3-2, after eight innings.

**Novak Sanitary**
The 10U team also pushed through to the final round of the Brandon-hosted tournament, with the Novak Sanitary team taking on a pool play round Friday and Saturday, going 1-1 for the two-day total.

The pool play put Dells in the No. 3 seed for the Sunday semifinals. Novak won the semifinal game, 23-5, putting them into the final round of the bracket.

In the championship, the Novak Sanitary team lost to the Sioux Falls Express, 3-1, taking the second-place slot in its division.
