On Oct. 16 the Dell Rapids High School Quiz Bowl teams traveled to Brookings to compete against 24 teams from area schools.

Dell Rapids Team 2 tied with Brandon Valley for sixth place with a total of 96 points. Team competitors were Captain Austen Hof, Alex Kannenberg, Michael Mitchell, Shane O’hara and Zach Stelzer.

Dell Rapids Team 1 ended the night in 15th place with 65 points. Team competitors were Captain Jackson Gleason, Ben Hinricher, Wyatt Redetzke, Ted DeLange and Braeden Lighner. The top four places were secured by the Brookings teams, and fifth place went to Brandon Valley Team 3.

St. Mary was unable to attend the Brookings competition because of senior night for volleyball.

Dell Rapids Public’s next competition will be at West Central on Nov. 6.
