A resilient performance on the road earned the St. Mary’s boys basketball team its first win of the season as the Cardinals topped Marion 42-36 Friday.

Leading the Cardinals offensively were Mitch Roemen and Austin Kubley with 15 points.

Teammate Jared Scholten added 10 points for St. Mary’s.

Roemen also secured 8 rebounds in the contest.

With the loss, Marion remains winless for the season.

The Cardinals are 1-7.
