Construction on the Highway 115 bridges south of Dell Rapids started last week, reducing traffic on Dell Rapids’ primary southbound artery to one lane for about two weeks.
On Wednesday, June 5, the South Dakota Department of Transportation began work on the structures over the Big Sioux River, sporadically reducing traffic to one lane during daytime hours while crews made preparations to the deck surfaces for patching.
Since Monday, crews have been removing and replacing the concrete deck surfaces on the bridges, requiring traffic to be reduced to one lane for the remainder of the project.
