Ginsbach recognized at pageant
Sarah Ginsbach, daughter of Steve and Diane Ginsbach of Dell Rapids, was a candidate in the Miss Teen of South Dakota State Pageant in Pierre Aug. 18. Ginsbach is 17 years old and is a senior at St. Mary High School.
She received Miss Teen of South Dakota Program “Outstanding Achievement Award” for academics and an Award of Special Recognition for her special achievements as an outstanding teen.
Fifty-seven girls participated in the pageant. Each candidate was scored in six judging categories: Scholastic Record, Achievement and Service to School and Community, General Awareness Written Test, Personal Development of Talents and Skills, Personality Projection in Formal Wear, and Interview.
National Pageant Founder, Warren Alexander, stated: “This pageant truly represents the young women of the Twenty-First Century. Sixty percent of the scoring involves written resumes and testing, with the strongest single category being the interview with the judges.”
Ginsbach was sponsored in the pageant by Dr. and Mrs. Donald Phillips, Always Your Design, Schwebach Insurance and Real Estate, Dell Rapids Lumber, Minnehaha Funeral Home, Art and Joan Klein, Luis and Jane Berrios, and Dan and Linda Karbo.
Munk gets SDSU scholarship
BROOKINGS Chad Munk of Dell Rapids was awarded the Waldemar Sippel Memorial Scholarship in Physics at South Dakota State University for the 2013-20142 academic year.
Munk is a sophomore majoring in physics at SDSU, the son of Steven and Connie Munk and is a graduate of the Dell Rapids Public High School.
