In a battle of the birds, the St. Mary Cardinals came up short Thursday night against the second ranked Arlington Cardinals in Dell Rapids.
St. Mary fell in three sets - 25-19, 25-15, 25-8 – despite strong performances by Abby Siemonsma and Ally Mullaney. Siemonsma had 12 assists and five digs, while Mullaney forced eight kills and three blocks.
Other contributors for St. Mary were Kaitlyn Vortherms – she had six digs and two ace serves – and Riley Wolles, who had three blocks.
The Cardinals of St. Mary were set to face Freeman Academy Tuesday night in Freeman.
