Wolles, Roemen lead Cards at conference meet

The Cardinals cross country runners medaled in bulk last week at the Dakota Valley Conference meet.
Running his way to a third place finish in White Wednesday, Oct. 9, Mitch Roemen finished the five-kilometer course in 18:46.
St. Mary’s Jared Scholten was sixth quickest in the boys event with a time of 19:38.
Also performing strong for the Cardinals were Ethan Schmidt, finishing eighth with a time of 19:45, and Matt Farmer. Farmer finished 10th with a time of 20:13.
Elkton-Lake Benton’s Quinn Fargen won the meet with a time of 18:20.
The boys team finished in second place behind only Elkton-Lake Benton.
On the girls side, the Cardinals finished third as a team behind a second place finish for Anna Wolles. Her time of 17:28 was bested by only Arlington’s Janae Sampson.
Cardinal Cassy Geraets finished the four-kilometer course with the seventh best time – 18:11.
