Mullaney hurdles competitors in Baltic, boys win four events

Ally Mullaney led St. Mary with three event wins at the Baltic Invitational Tuesday, May 6 in Baltic.
Mullaney’s event championships came in the 110-meter hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and the girls high jump.
In the 100m hurdles she recorded a time of 16.3 seconds, and in the 300m hurdles she finished in 50.4 seconds.
Mullaney cleared a height of four feet nine inches to win the high jump.
Another event championship for the Cardinals came in the 3200-meter run. Anna Wolles was the fastest runner in the event. She finished the course in 12:36.4.
Cassandra Geraets earned points for the Cardinals with a third-place finish in the 1600-meter run by recording a time of 6:08.5.
Another third-place finish came in the 3200-meter relay when the team of Anna Wolles, Jackie Wolles, Christina Vogel and Geraets put up a time of 11:33.3.
St. Mary senior Kelly Michel finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.8 seconds.
The Cardinals finished fifth overall with 57 points.
The Cardinals snagged four event championships and a fourth-place finish at the Baltic Invitational Track and Field Meet Tuesday, May 6 in Baltic.
St. Mary’s Jacob Glazier stuck to his winning ways in the long jump when his jump of 20 feet seven inches bested any competitor.
The Cardinals impressed in the 800-meter run with two top-three finishers. Mitch Roemen was fastest with a time of 2:15.5, and Jared Scholten took third with a time of 2:17.3.
Scholten won the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:57.0, and Roemen took third after completing the run in five minutes. Scholten finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:42.9.
Leon Maxwell earned an event championship for the Cardinals in the discus with a throw of 124 feet six inches. He was second best in the shot with a put of 41 feet 10 inches.
St. Mary’s Ariel Herrara took the second-place spot in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.3 seconds.
The Cardinals finished the meet with 91 points.
