First let me commend our code enforcement officers for doing their job. The quotes of Aldermen Crisp and Burggraff in the Argus Leader and Dell Rapids Tribune on Aug. 13, 2014, affirm the fact that they have no regard for local ordinances.
I moved to Dell Rapids 10 years ago and since 2013 there has been controversy concerning the recently elected officials. New Jersey politics are mild compared to what is going on here. My biggest mistake was voting for Alderman Burggraff.
Building codes are for a reason – compliance of building standards.
I obtained a building permit for my roof and sidewalk. I will get a permit for my driveway and walkway. I guess being retired gives me more time to check for what needs to be done to be in compliance without violating local building standards. Apparently Aldermen Crisp and Burggraff are too busy to do what is right.
